“Art and culture play a vital role in expressing and reinforcing the values of kindness, tolerance, understanding and a sense of a shared struggle. Despite the obvious practical challenges, now is the most crucial time to utilize art, culture and diplomacy across borders to try amending some of the wounds inflicted upon humanity with the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh

“An act of kindness can say a lot about a country’s culture.”

“Cultural diplomacy—the act of fostering mutual understanding through the exchange of art, ideas, and knowledge—has an essential role to play in pushing back against the false narratives on which destructive forces thrive in our world"

“What the world needs now, more than ever, is a sense of shared humanity. What the world needs is to connect human beings in mutual discovery, respect and appreciation of one another. What the world needs right now is cultural diplomacy. I believe that cultural diplomacy is about connecting people. In a sense, connecting people is easier now than ever before. Cultural diplomacy is about insisting that cultural exchanges make us all stronger, not weaker. This is what the late Sheikh Zayed believed. He taught us to be open to others and to learn from them, and he reminded us of the common humanity that we share. We are proud of our heritage, but we are open to the world. We see our heritage strengthened by our engagement with the world".
